Treatment Process
Protecting Your Family From March Through October
Fleas and ticks are active in the Stillwater area from March through October. That's a long season, and if you have kids or pets who spend time outside, it's a long time to be exposed. We treat in March and in October to provide year-round protection, targeting the season at the start before populations build, and again in the fall to close it out. Fleas and ticks thrive in tall grass, leaf litter, shaded areas near fences, and spots where wildlife passes through. These are the areas we focus on during treatment.
Why Yard Treatment Matters More Than Pet Treatment Alone
Many pet owners rely on flea and tick products applied directly to their animals, collars, topicals, oral medications. These are helpful, but they don't address the source of the problem: your yard. For every flea on your pet, there are roughly 100 more in the environment, in the soil, in grass, and in your home if they've hitched a ride inside. Treating the yard creates a protective barrier that stops the cycle at the source, dramatically reducing the number of fleas and ticks your family and pets come into contact with throughout the season.
Seasonal Protection, March Through October
Our flea and tick treatment is applied twice during the active season, once in early spring (March–April) and again in midsummer (July–August), to maintain an effective barrier during the months when populations are highest in Oklahoma. We focus treatment on the areas where fleas and ticks actually live and breed: along fence lines, under landscaping, around lawn edges, in shaded spots, and anywhere wildlife tends to pass through your property. These are the hotspots that most people miss when treating on their own. After treatment, we recommend keeping pets and children off the treated areas until the product has fully dried, typically a few hours. Once dry, the yard is safe and ready to enjoy.
